Why restore a photo?

When you have a photo restored you are preserving the memory of a family member or event for future generations. If the photo is not restored, it will continue to deteriorate and will eventually be lost forever.

What can be done

Photo restoration attempts to restore a damaged photo to its original condition. Not all photos can be restored, unfortunately. In some cases the damage is so extensive that there is simply not enough of the original left to work with. However, many photos which you might think are beyond help can, in fact, be restored. We can:
  • repair major dust and scratches
  • rebuild missing sections of the photo
  • correct for color and exposure

How much does it cost

The cost of restoring a photo depends on how long it takes to do the work. If the major damage is confined to the background or other non-essential areas of the photo, it will typically cost $25-$35 to have it restored. If vital areas, such as faces or hands, have extensive damage the cost will be higher, sometimes significantly. Once we see the photo, we will assess the damage and give you a firm price before we begin any restoration.
